Sustainability Initiatives

Environmental awareness and protection are paramount. Our sustainability initiatives promote environmental awareness throughout our properties and with our employees in an effort to make a positive impact on the earth. For years, Divi & Tamarijn Aruba have taken pride in being among the most eco-friendly and community-friendly resorts in the hospitality industry. We strive to continuously provide the ultimate Caribbean vacation experience through quality service and facilities.

 Our Sustainability Practices

WATER CONSERVATION

Water use on our properties is systematically monitored at pools, guest rooms, kitchens, restaurants and dining areas, along with gray water for landscaping.

STAFF EDUCATION

Our team members participate in workshops and seminars conducted by the environmental committee, local government organizations and non-governmental environmental organizations.

ENERGY MANAGEMENT

Energy conscious, we use timers on our electrical equipment, outdoor lighting for walkways, and air-conditioning units. Our resort shuttles are solar powered and we utilize energy saving air conditioning systems, light bulbs, refrigeration equipment in the kitchens and more.

CONTROL OF HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES

The suitability of all products is determined before they are purchased. Our staff is fully trained whenever new chemicals or equipment are purchased for use at Divi & Tamarijn Aruba.

SOCIAL AND CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT

We promote and sell local tours and attractions. Special recognition is given to vendors that use green practices. We also invite local craft vendors Divi & Tamarijn Aruba at least once a week to display and sell craft items.

WASTE MANAGEMENT

Divi & Tamarijn Aruba has eliminated the use of plastic straws and other paper and plastic goods throughout the properties to protect Aruba's marine life, wildlife, reptiles, beach and ocean. Bottle usage has been reduced 60% by our BiB (bag in box) systems.

No Straw Initiative

To do our part in reducing plastic pollution, which constitutes 90% of all trash floating in our oceans and with straws ranking among the top 10 contributors, Divi & Tamarijn Aruba has eliminated the use of plastic straws and other paper goods.
