“We met on match.com 11 years ago. We texted for a week or so when he called me to ask me on a date. Said he felt texting was too “impersonal”. I remember seeing the name on my phone screen and dropping my phone. My voice was shaking when I answered. I said yes, but he had to wait another three weeks. My brother was going to army boot camp and I needed time with my family. He didn’t hesitate to tell me “of course, family first. We met at the Olive Garden for dinner and went for a walk on a local beach after.
