Each Tuesday and Wednesday, from 8am - 4pm, our resorts offer a 14 mile guided tour on our new E-Bikes. These bikes are for individuals ages 12 and up and offer pedal assist all the way up to the California Lighthouse in Noord, Aruba. You can sign up for these tours at the new Activities Center located at the Tamarijn Aruba. Space is limited to 12 persons per trip so sign up early!
This guided tour includes three fun stops along the way there and back. First stop is the beautiful Butterfly Farm. Since 1999 this establishment has offered a safe space for these amazing creatures as well as offering education to guests. Here you will learn about the life cycle of butterflies, identification and even see a large variety of chrysalis (butterfly pupa). Have your cameras ready and explore this large netted garden full of colorful butterflies. This stop also offers delicious snacks and drinks for purchase.
After visiting the butterflies you will be pedaling along the western coast of Aruba until you reach the California Lighthouse. This lighthouse was not named after the US state but after the S.S. California which was damaged by the Aruban coastline and sunk prior to its construction in 1910. For 5 florin (roughly $3 US dollars) you can climb to the very top and are rewarded with an amazing view of the Aruba coast.
After climbing down the California lighthouse your legs will appreciate the ride downhill to the Boca Catalina. The beach of Boca Catalina is an ideal snorkel and swim spot. The waters are calm and crystal clear and during the weekdays you may have the spot all to yourself. This area is one of the best to see the local aquatic wildlife. Please be sure to bring plenty of reef safe sunscreen and enjoy the full Aruba effect.
When you arrive back at the Tamarijn Aruba All Inclusive the lounge chairs at the beach and pool will be waiting for you.
